Adding or editing a Promotion in an Experience Optimization region

Add or edit a Promotion in an Experience Optimization region to change the kind of content that appears in the region.

Procedure

  1. On an editable Web page, start editing by clicking the pencil button in the top right corner.
  2. Navigate to the properties screen of an Experience Optimization region, either from the properties of the Web page or from the Region properties of a Component.

    You see:

    • The title of the current page
    • The name of the region
    • The maximum number of items allowed in this region
    • Buttons to edit a selected Promotion or to add a new one
    • A list of the Promotions applied to this region
    • A button to open the Experience Optimization Manager application (refer to the Experience Optimization documentation for more information about this application).
  3. Do one of the following:
    • Edit an existing Promotion in this region by selecting it and clicking the Edit control.
    • Add a new Promotion to this region by clicking the Add control.

  4. In the Triggers area, change the list of triggers for this Promotion by adding triggers, removing triggers, and setting the properties of a trigger. Refer to the Experience Optimization documentation for more information about triggers.
  5. In the Actions area, specify which content to display if this Promotion is triggered. Refer to the Experience Optimization documentation for more information about actions.
    • If you are editing an existing Promotion, do not select a different value for Region.
    • If you are adding a new Promotion, select the name of your current region (as displayed in the Region properties popup) as the value for Region.
  6. Click Save to commit your changes, and close the dialog to return to the Web page.
  7. The Experience Optimization region on the Web page now shows content according to your changes.
